Rethinking Mom Guilt (and Motherhood)
Many mothers feel they are falling short, even when they are carrying more than anyone sees.
Not present enough, too impatient, too strict, not strict enough - constantly trying to balance impossible expectations.
Experiencing mom guilt is not a personal failure. It is a common experience, shaped by societal expectations and deeply ingrained ideas of what it means to be a “good mother” - beliefs many of us have absorbed without even realizing it.
This two-hour workshop is not about becoming a better mother. It is about understanding where these feelings of inadequacy come from, putting them into perspective, and finding a more compassionate way forward.
Together, we will explore:
Where does mom guilt actually come from?
Which beliefs about “good motherhood” have we internalized?
How can we respond to these feelings with greater awareness and self-compassion?
Dr. Melinda Lohmann, Conscious Parenting & Life Coach will guide you through the morning with a thoughtful blend of scientific insights, personal reflection, and meaningful conversation.
